Health is a dynamic process because it is always changing. We all have times of good health, times of sickness, and maybe even times of serious illness. As our lifestyles change, so does our level of health.

MENTAL HEALTH
The ability to learn and grow intellectually. Life experiences as well as more formal structures (e.g., school) enhance mental health. Mental Health Improves the Quality of Life When we are free of depression, anxiety, excessive stress and worry, addictions, and other psychological problems, we are more able to live our lives to the fullest. Peace of mind is a natural condition, and is available to everyone. Mental health strengthens and supports our ability to: have healthy relationships make good life choices maintain physical health and well-being handle the natural ups and downs of life discover and grow toward our potential

SOCIAL HEALTH
The ability to interact well with people and the environment and to have satisfying personal relationships. "People who need people …" is more than just a phrase from a popular song. Having friends and outside interests can make a difference in living longer and healthier lives. Everyone needs to feel loved and supported-especially as we grow older. As we age, friends truly can be lifesavers. The friend who brings the chicken soup makes as much difference in feeling better faster as the soup itself. Conversation, sharing, being in touch with others who have active, involved lives gives living a purpose. Sharing with friends helps multiply the joys and divide the sorrows.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH
The ability to control emotions so that you feel comfortable expressing them and can express them appropriately. Emotionally healthy individuals are able to lead a productive and enjoyable life, despite having the odds against their favor. On the other hand, emotionally weak people fall prey to depression, anxiety and panic attacks in times of adversity. Being emotionally stable implies that you will be able to bounce back in life, irrespective of the situation you are into. Emotional health also contributes to your overall wellness. Remember, part of your healthy lifestyle is to enjoy life to the fullest. Individuals with healthy emotional state of health are able to enjoy life to the fullest. The fact of the matter is that such individuals feel less stressed and are able to relax even during panic situations.

SPIRITUAL HEALTH
A belief in some unifying force. It varies from person to person but has the concept of faith at its core. Contemplative practices are activities that guide you to direct your attention to a specific focus—often an inward-looking reflection or concentration on a specific sensation or concept. Many spiritual traditions have a long history of using contemplative practices to increase compassion, empathy, and attention, as well as quiet the mind.

Wellness is the search for enhanced quality of life, personal growth, and potential through positive lifestyle behaviours and attitudes. If we take responsibility for our own health and well-being, we can improve our health on a daily basis. Certain factors influence our state of wellness, including nutrition, physical activity, stress-coping methods, good relationships, and career success. Each day we work toward maximizing our level of health and wellness to live long, full, and healthy lives. The pursuit of health, personal growth, and improved quality of life relies on living a balanced life. To achieve balance, we need to care for our mind, body, and spirit. If any of these three areas is consistently lacking or forgotten about, we will not be at our optimal level of health. We are constantly challenged with balancing each of these three areas throughout life.
